Indiana Tech launches $26.2 million comprehensive campaign

September 29, 2022

Indiana Tech has launched the public phase of a $26.2 million comprehensive campaign, entitled Building a Century of Excellence. First begun in 2019 with a leadership giving phase, the campaign has already raised $25.2 million towards its goal. The public phase of the campaign is being kicked off at Indiana Tech’s President’s Dinner for alumni and friends of the university on Sept. 30, as part of homecoming weekend. The campaign will run over a five-year period, through 2024.

As Indiana Tech looks ahead to its 100th anniversary in 2030, the Building a Century of Excellence campaign seeks to enable the university to better serve all students as they prepare for careers in an increasingly competitive global job market and build lives of significance and worth. The campaign is centered on four main areas:

Zollner Engineering Center Expansion and Renovation

Originally known as the Dana Science Center, the Zollner Engineering Center was expanded to its current form in 2002. Given the significant changes in technology, education and career fields in the nearly two decades since, the time is right to reinvent and expand this vital learning facility to meet the needs of STEM students now and well into the future. This project will nearly double the center’s current size of 40,000 square feet, enabling Indiana Tech to better serve existing engineering and computer science programs, and establish new programs, partnerships and initiatives.

The new addition to the Zollner Engineering Center opened in August 2022 for the start of the fall semester. The renovation of the existing areas of the building began in May 2022, with the entire project scheduled to be completed in September 2023. Student Scholarships

Indiana Tech’s commitment to students includes keeping college highly affordable and providing a strong return on investment. The Building a Century of Excellence campaign is raising support for a wide range of scholarship opportunities to help students of all ages achieve their educational and career goals.

Excellence in Athletics

Indiana Tech student-athletes regularly compete for conference and national championships, and earn both individual and team recognition for their academic performance in the classroom. Building a Century of Excellence seeks to provide these outstanding student-athletes with outstanding facilities that will allow them to maintain and improve their performance in competition and in their studies. Support from the campaign is enabling the university to build a new indoor track and field facility, enhance existing facilities across multiple sports, and create a sustainable athletics fund for excellence.

Enhancing Student Success

Today’s college experience at Indiana Tech includes a broader and deeper approach to student advising and support. This is true for students studying on the university’s main campus as well as those who are online or at a distance from its on-campus resources. Building a Century of Excellence is helping the university grow the funding for its Office of Student Success; add to the experiential, out-of-classroom career experiences available to all students; and enhance its McMillen Library facility through the growth of its Writing Center, Teaching Excellence Center, and Oral Communication Center.

Indiana Tech President Karl Einolf commented, “The Building a Century of Excellence campaign will help put our university in even better position to serve the students of today and tomorrow. It says so much about the commitment of our alumni and community supporters that we have already raised more than $25 million of our $26.2 million goal. I’m tremendously grateful to everyone who has supported the campaign during our leadership phase. Each of them is making a tremendous difference in the lives of our students. It’s exciting for all of us at Indiana Tech to launch the public phase of this important campaign. I am confident that we will not just meet our goal, but exceed it.”
