Indiana Tech Law School records new high for enrollments

August 18, 2016

Indiana Tech Law School has reached a significant new high in student enrollments, with 55 new law students starting at the school this academic year. This exceeds the goal of 50 new students set by the university for this year. New student orientation started August 17, with fall semester classes at the law school set to begin August 22.

Indiana Tech Law School Dean Charles Cercone attributed the large increase in new students to several key factors, including the law school’s innovative, career-oriented program of study and the school’s accreditation by the American Bar Association this past spring. The ABA granted provisional accreditation to Indiana Tech Law School in March 2016.

“The news about accreditation, coupled with a program that works from day one to prepare students for careers in law, has made our school very appealing to students from around the country,” noted Cercone.  “We received nearly three times as many applicants this year over last year, and we’re excited to welcome our new students to campus this week.”

Indiana Tech Law School also remains one of the most affordable options in the country for a law degree, while retaining a highly-personalized approach to working with each student. New law student Oliver Barie noted, “Indiana Tech Law School was my first choice. Beyond its convenience and affordability, the faculty and staff’s professionalism and willingness to help potential students were unlike any other graduate program I had explored. From the day I began exploring the idea of law school, to LSAT preparation, and all the way to orientation, Indiana Tech has been there to help. I am thrilled to be a Warrior, and look forward to my journey at Indiana Tech’s Law School.”

The incoming class of Indiana Tech Law School students comes from 45 colleges and universities in 15 states, including Indiana, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. It is composed of 55% men, 45% women, and 30% minority students. Eight members hold Master’s degrees, and eight have served in the U.S. military.

Founded in 2013, Indiana Tech Law School graduated its first class in May 2016. For more information about the law school, visit https://law.indianatech.edu.
